The earthquake in Haiti January 2010 prompted the Haitian government to team up with Partners in Health, an organization that provides modern medical care to resource-poor countries, and which opened University Hospital in 2013.
The University Hospital in Mirebalais, Haiti, the site for the HANA of Maryland mission trip, which unfortunately had to be cancelled earlier this month, was the site, in 2015 of the first separation of conjoined twins in Haiti. The surgery was performed by Dr. Henri Ford, a native of Haiti living in the Los Angeles at the time. Please see the video below to get the story.
