Did you know that 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes? Statistically speaking, if you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love: a spouse, a parent, a child or a friend. We are seeking participation from you, a well-respected member of our community.

Please join us on Sunday, July 1 as we present an informational session on the basics of CPR for Family and Friends Adult Resuscitation (CPR). This presentation teaches lay-rescuer skills in CPR; AED use; and relief of choking in adults. The session uses the research-proven practice-while-watching format. It is for people who do not need a course completion card for a job or other requirements, and is ideal for community groups, parents, grandparents, caregivers, school groups and students, and others interested in learning how to save a life.

At this event we will also provide BMI calculation blood pressure measurement.

*NOTE: This is NOT a free CPR certification class. This is simply an informational session on the basics of CPR. What you learn however, may be the first steps in saving the life of your loved one! Anyone required by his or her employer or wishing to be credentialed as a lay responder should take a Heartsaver® course.

HANA of Maryland will also have a fundraiser at the Greenbelt Farmers Market in the near future. Stay tuned for more.
